News: ODFW Best bets for weekend fishing

- Closed to retention of white sturgeon except for the following modifications:
- This area will be open to retention of white sturgeon on Saturday, September 15, 2018 and Saturday, September 22, 2018 (two days).
PACIFIC HALIBUT
There will be an update by noon on Friday, Sept. 7 about the Central Oregon Coast summer all-depth season.
The Central Coast nearshore halibut fishery remains open 7 days per week. When the winds have allowed anglers to get out, there has been limited success with nearshore halibut: not a lot of fish, but the average weight is a robust 25 pounds undressed. Through Aug. 26, approximately 4,200 pounds (16 percent) of the quota remained.
