Fishing Report: Garibaldi Coho Jun 22

Fishing Report: Garibaldi Coho Jun 22

Reserved a spot for my travel trailer at the Port of Garibaldi RV Park. Very convenient location right next to the boat launch. Since I was towing the travel trailer, my friend Jeff was willing to tow my boat down for me. Now, I can tow boat back and forth, or leave it with the travel trailer. It is really really nice not to have the 90 minute plus drive back to Portland after fishing all day. Being “home” in the RV within minutes of returning to the dock is “awesome”.

Jeff, Inna and I fished for coho on Saturday using the standard triangle flasher and cut plug herring method. The early morning bite was good, but tapered off quickly once the sun got up. A lot of coho around, but they appear spread out at this time. We managed 5 hatchery fish, released a few natives, and lost a couple of more fish. We had dropped 3 crab pots on the way to our fishing spot, and managed 8 keepers for 3 pots.

We were back at the RV having fresh grilled Salmon Caesar salads shortly after noon. Very convenient and nice to be staying near the marina.
